Gothom ARYA - President - Social and Economic Council (Thaïland)
Gothom ARYA, President of the Social and Economic Council of Thailand, is a fervent campaigner for human rights and democracy.
He has been one of the pioneers of election monitoring, and was sent to observe the elections in Cambodia, Indonesia, India, and in his own country as well –Thailand- in the 90s. An engineer by training, he is also and a current university teacher.

Michel KAMANO - President - Social and Economic Council (Guinea)
Michel KAMANO, the President of the Economic and Social Council of Guinea since 1997, has worked within the African Development Bank, the World Bank Institute and the International Monetary Fund Institute.

Jacques DERMAGNE - President - Conseil Économique, Social et Environnemental (France)
Jacques DERMAGNE, the head of a company, has also headed for some 20 years the National Council for Trade, a confederation bringing together more than a hundred french federations for wholesale and retail trade. He has also been Executive Vice-President of the CNPF (the National Council of French Employers which became the MEDEF).
In 1999, he was elected President of the Economic, Social (and from now on, “Environmental” too) Council, a position he is still holding. He has also been President of the International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS) for two years.
Robert TOLLET - President - Central Economic Council (Belgium)
Robert TOLLET is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Société Fédérale de Participation et d’Investissement (a belgian public holding company), and also former President of the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He has been President of the Belgian Central Economic Council since 1988.
The Central Economic Council brings together syndicates and trade unions and issues reports, makes suggestions and comes up with compromises that are telltale of the public interest.
