Gérard MULLIEZ – Founder - Groupe AUCHAN (France)

An emblem of the family which is “the first professional fortune in France” according to French Magazine Challenges, Gérard MULLIEZ founded Auchan in 1961. As early as 1977, he made it possible for employees to buy shares in the company, and today, employees own more than 13% of the capital of that mass retail flagship brand. This practice is implemented in almost all countries where Auchan has established, for example in China in 2007 and most recently in Russia.
Gérard MULLIEZ, a member of the French national christian movement of business executives, heads the Strategic Committee of Group Auchan, and thus pursues his vocation as an entrepreneur.
